West Ham United coach Carlton Cole hopes the club pushes out the boat to sign James Tarkowski.
The Burnley man is being linked with a move to the London club in this transfer window.
Leicester City are also interested in Tarkowski, and Burnley would want a huge fee for their key defender.
"Yes," Cole said when asked by talkSPORT if the club should break their transfer record to sign the centre-back
"Listen, I think he's going to bring a lot of experience. That experience is very, very important.
"We have very good defenders but I think it would be a good to add to that just to shore up the back a little bit.
"And someone like him coming in would be very good for the club to go in the right direction.
"What we do with the Diangana money is very important for the future of the club."
