West Ham United boss David Moyes wants to secure more signings before the transfer window slams shut.
Premier League clubs have until October to do deals for incoming and outgoing players.
But Moyes is not sure whether he has enough transfer funds to do so.
"I just don't want centre-halves. I want other positions as well," he told reporters after a narrow loss to Arsenal.
"Ultimately I would like to sign three or four players, but I totally understand we are not in a financial position to do so."
James Tarkowski, the Burnley centre-back, is one of West Ham's key targets.
