West Ham United manager David Moyes defended his decision to withdraw Said Benrahma with an hour gone against Crystal Palace.

The Hammers had been given a lead in the game through Benrahma, with Palace equalizing through Wilfried Zaha.

However, the game was in the balance when Benrahma was replaced, and Palace went on to win through Michael Olise.

“I think if you are watching the game from there, I actually think we got better," Moyes stated about the decision postgame to reporters.

“I thought our football was better and we controlled a bit more of the game. I thought we looked more likely to score at that period of the game as well.

“You wouldn't see it, Said was badly strapped up on his knee and was touch and go for the game.
