Both Bowen and Soucek hit the ground running following their arrivals, but have particularly impressed following the restart. Soucek has scored in back-to-back games while Bowen has picked up three assists and made the right winger role his own.
"If we had got it wrong and they didn't perform it wouldn't mean that we were doing badly," Moyes said of his recruitment strategy. "But I think that if you get signings that work you can see where you're going, we're trying to be a bit more diligent in the ones we bring in. We are trying to have a type we want to bring in. If we continue to bring in players of a similar type we'll be going in the right direction.
"But obviously, players do need time to bed in, to settle and get used to it. There is no manager in the world who at times hasn't got signings wrong because it is part and parcel of football, you just don't get them all right."
