Benfica striker Nuno Gomes is wanted by Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United.

The Mirror says Gomes, 33, is desperate to keep his place in the Portugal squad for the World Cup this summer.

The experienced forward has struggled to command a regular first-team place at Benfica as Javier Saviola and Oscar Cardozo have forged an impressive partnership this season.

West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola is keen to bring another striker to Upton Park and give some much needed competition to Guillermo Franco and Carlton Cole.

Bolton are also hoping to strengthen their squad in January and add some more firepower as they look to move away from the bottom three.
