West Ham attacker Lucas Paqueta says AC Milan still remains close to him.

Paqueta was brought to Europe by the Rossonero before he was sold to Lyon.

He told Sky Italia's Gianluca di Marzio: “I have a lot of memories and a lot of friends in Milan. It was a good experience but at the same time difficult, it allowed me to grow.

"Today, I am still a fan of Milan, a club that will always remain special to me. I will always thank Milan, the supporters and my friends. But I had to leave, life is like that. If I am where I am today, it is above all thanks to Milan.

"Football is like that, there are ups and downs and we have to gain experience to get to the top. And today, I am grateful to everyone."

He adds: “Today, it's a good team that won the Scudetto and is playing in the Champions League. The club is reaping the fruits of the work that has been done and for me, it has what it takes to win the Champions League. We are talking about the second biggest club in the world, a club that will always be in my heart."
