West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke is chasing Chelsea striker Demba Ba.
The Telegraph says Clarke is hoping for a favour from Jose Mourinho after making an offer to take Ba on loan for the season, with Newcastle United also interested in the Senegal international.
Ba is certain to leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes and Chelsea are demanding a £3 million loan fee, with Clarke making his move late this week.
