West Bromwich Albion have reportedly offered defender Joleon Lescott a new deal in a bid to ward off interest from Aston Villa.

TheMirror is reporting that Lescott is set to commit his future to Albion, dealing a blow to Villa's hopes of landing the 32-year-old.

Lescott has only 12 months remaining on his current deal at the Hawthorns, but appears likely to extend his time at Villa's West Midlands enemies.
