West Brom have published their latest figures, revealing that they made pre-tax losses of £7.5m last season as they were relegated from the Premier League, reports BBC Sport.
They spent a record £45.9m on signings, including Jay Rodriguez, Oliver Burke and Gareth Barry and increased their wage bill by £13.2m to £92.2m.
Chief executive Mark Jenkins said "the cost of a season which ended up with the club relegated from the Premier League exhausted our funds".
