West Brom hero Garry Thompson says manager Roberto di Matteo needs to find a proven goal scorer for next season.
Thompson, who enjoyed spells as a player with Coventry City, Sheffield Wednesday and Villa, believes it will take big money to bring in the finishing piece of the jigsaw.
"Roberto Di Matteo is a continuation of Tony Mowbray's work and beliefs, which is the right way to do it. They just need a forward to give them a cutting edge," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"They will need to buy one. They've all played in the Premier before. Miller will develop and in Morrison and Brunt and Dorrans you have a decent base there.
"I just think they need a finisher and it will cost money. Someone like Kevin Phillips from four years ago."
