West Brom boss Mowbray happy with Fortune deal

West Brom have made Marc-Antoine Fortune their second January signing.

The French-Guyana forward has joined the Baggies on loan for the rest of the season from French top-flight outfit Nancy.

The 27-year-old hitman cannot be recalled by his parent club during the duration of his loan - and Albion also have an exclusive option to buy Fortune during the summer.

"I really like good footballers and basically Marc-Antoine's a good footballer who plays centre-forward," Baggies boss Tony Mowbray told the WBA website.

"Hopefully, you'll see a player who has got a good appreciation of the ball, good movement, can hold it up for his team and will hopefully threaten the goal.

"I'm delighted he's here and I hope he'll contribute to our team.

"I think he'll fit into the way we play and hopefully he can add goals as well.

"He's a natural forward and if you want him to play up front on his own, like he has done for Nancy, he can do that.

"Sometimes, when you sign new players, you've got to let them settle into your team.

"He'll have to fit into the shape of the team.

"Ultimately, I want to bring in good footballers - and he falls into that category."
