West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine has rejected a new bid from Burnley for Craig Dawson.
The former England Under-21 international was subject to a £1million offer by the Premier League new boys last month and they have also failed with a second approach.
Irvine said: "My first signing was Joleon Lescott. That was so we would have four centre-backs I feel comfortable with. Right at this moment we have that.
"I'm certainly not wanting to lose any of those centre-backs, they're all proven in the Premier League.
"Craig's on the way up, he's played at England Under-21 level. I certainly see him staying here. It's going to take a very good bid to make the club accept it.
"The fact is we're not looking to accept it. He's an important player for us."
