Former Tottenham defender Kallum Cesay has missed a contract at Werder Bremen.
Cesay, after coming off contract at Spurs over the summer, spent 10 days with Werder trialling with the first team squad.
However, the 21 year-old didn't do enough to win a contract.
"Kallum did a good job and also presented himself well off the pitch, but he is a bit away from the Bundesliga. It wouldn't have made any sense for us to use him primarily in the U23s," said Werder football chief Clemens Fritz on Wednesday morning.
