Wenger to gauge squad depth in League Cup tie

Arsene Wenger is looking to see just how good his squad is as he rotates his team for the Gunners' trip to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup.

Arsenal are coming off the back of a busy, but successful week, having beaten Bayern Munich in the Champions League last Wednesday followed by a victory over Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

However, as his side travel to Sheffield Wednesday for their midweek League Cup fixture, Wenger has urged his squad to be prepared to play as he looks to rotate his team.

Wenger made several changes to his side for their last League Cup match at Tottenham and looks set to repeat the dose on Wednesday night.

Speaking with The Mirror Wenger said: "We want the players who come in to the team to show they are able to make the squad successful, and do absolutely everything to help us win.

"That's the job of a footballer. When you get the chance, you have to be ready."
