Wenger disappointed his sending off distracted from a gutsy Arsenal win

Arsene Wenger believes the value of ten-man Arsenal's 2-1 recent win against Burnley was lost because his own conduct overshadowed the victory.

The Arsenal boss was infuriated after an injury-time penalty was awarded to Burnley, which Andre Gray scored to make the score 1-1, and was sent to the stands by referee Jon Moss for allegedly using abusive or insulting language.

The Gunners were awarded a penalty of their own in the 98th minute which Alexis Sanchez converted to secure a 2-1 victory and move Wenger's side up to second in the table.

Asked if his team's approach had been lost in the frantic end to the game, Wenger said: "Yes, this team has shown qualities that are very important.

"We are team that has produced more goals in the last five minutes than anyone else. It shows we are relentless and a refusal to give in no matter what happens, we keep going."

Arsenal, who were playing with 10 men after Granit Xhaka's red card, have now taken 10 points by virtue of goals in the last four minutes of six league matches so far this season.

Wenger added: "That is a very interesting quality in the squad. On top of that, the contribution of the players coming off the bench this season has been absolutely remarkable.

"That shows you as well that there is a great unity in the team. These are qualities that will be very important going into the last four months now."
