Watford keeper Loach highlights influence of Man Utd's Foster

Watford goalkeeper Scott Loach credits Manchester United's Ben Foster for his promotion to the England U21 squad.

Loach, 21, revealed: "When I was a youngster, Ben came on loan to Watford. He used to give me advice and we still chat regularly.

"Whenever I need to talk I just give him a call and he's brilliant. He's like a big brother to me.

"Like me, he's made a few mistakes along the way but he's always bounced back.

"My aim is to follow him into the senior squad. I'd love to achieve that."

Loach had a nightmare when the Under-21s crashed 4-0 to Germany in June's Euro 2009 final.

But he shrugged: "You make mistakes as a keeper but one of my strengths is that I get over them quickly."
