Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse admits their top four push has been strengthened after being dumped out of the FA Cup.
Saints fell to Crystal Palace in Saturday's fourth round tie.
With them out of both the Capital One Cup and FA Cup, it could be a blessing in disguise for the club pushing for European qualification.
"Potentially, but that's not really our thoughts," said Ward-Prowse when asked whether it could help the club now they are not in the competition.
"We want to win every game, and we want to be in the FA Cup still.
"But it's a chance for us to focus on the league and hopefully we're going to keep pushing on."
