Wales coaches baffled by Man Utd move for Malacia

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag's move for Tyrell Malacia raised eyebrows last summer.

The diminutive left-back arrived at Old Trafford shortly after the Dutch head coach took over.

However, The Athletic claims that the Welsh national team saw Malacia as a weak link when they played in June of last year in the Nations League.

The idea was to get the ball to right winger Brennan Johnson to take on Malacia.

While he is energetic and determined, Malacia is not the best defender in terms of his concentration and tracking back.

He has not been involved this season, with the Dutch defender dealing with a long-term injury.
