Villa's Routledge blasts back at Palace chairman Jordan

Aston Villa winger Wayne Routledge has hit back at Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan.

Last week, Jordan said of Routledge: "He went, he grabbed the money, and now he's at Villa not getting in the first team, just like he didn't get in the Spurs team, just like he didn't get in the Portsmouth team and just like he didn't get in the Fulham team."

But winger Routledge, who scored a superb goal in Thursday's 6-0 victory over FC Wil 1900 and is in the frame to start against FC Zurich this afternoon, disagrees.

"I am part of a big club here and I want to play more. We all make decisions in our careers - he made a decision to buy Palace when people at the time might have said that was a bad idea. But it has turned out alright for him.

"Everyone has got to take their own path in life. You can't make decisions for other people.

"And you also have to make decisions to test yourself."
