Villarreal goalkeeper Pepe Reina has opened the door to a return to Liverpool.
Reina admits this could be his last season as an active player.
He told the Athletic: “I was once 'red', I will always be 'red'. There are some clubs that leave a mark on your heart and soul. I will always be grateful to Liverpool as a club and as a city.
"The people were amazing to me. It was the best moment of my career. Thanks to my teammates, the numbers are still on par with the best in the history of the club and the Premier League.
“It's about preparing myself for life after playing. Maybe one day I will return to Anfield as a coach. Football is what I like the most.
“Hopefully in January I will have my B licence, so next year if I decide to hang up my gloves, I will be able to start as a manager at the academy or as an assistant.
"I want to be a coach, not a goalkeeping coach.
“I admire former goalkeepers like (Julen) Lopetegui and Nuno (Espirito Santo), who have followed that path."
