Aston Villa are said to have launched an improved bid for Bayer Leverkusen's Moussa Diaby.
The Midlands club are extremely eager to secure the French winger this summer.
Manager Unai Emery believes that Diaby has the skill and one-on-one quality to improve his side immensely.
Per The Mail, Villa have made a new bid that is worth up to £42 million for the 24-year-old.
Diaby is also being linked to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, but is believed to prefer a move to the Premier League.
However, Villa may not be able to get their man at the current price they have put up to Leverkusen.
The German club are hoping to secure at least £52 million for the sale of their prized asset.
