Villa defender Torres: Where I know we must improve

Aston Villa must find a solution to their away form if they are to achieve their seasonal objectives.

That is the view of summer signing Pau Torres, who admits they must pick up more points away from Villa Park.

Villa have managed 25 points from their first 12 league games of the season so far.

However, they have only managed seven points on the road, as they are a perfect six wins from six at home.

“We are just concentrating on keeping in this way," he said about Villa's home form, per the Birmingham Mail.

“This run of victories started last season with the team and it has continued this year. We are very proud and very happy but we need to keep working to keep it going.

“The other teams come to Villa Park with a strong motivation to battle with us and to try and beat us in our home. We feel that but we also feel that now we are one of the top teams in this league.

“We need to keep working hard and make sure we stay in this form and keep winning. We do feel confident and we are starting a lot of games very well, in the first half, but we need to improve on what we did in the second half when we kept losing possession of the ball.

“We conceded more chances to them in the second half and we need to improve to keep control of all of the game."

Torres added: “We just have to keep going game to game. Now we feel strong and comfortable with the structure and our style – this is the way.

“But now we need to improve away from home because we need to add points away if we are going to stay in this position."
