Víctor Sánchez del Amo has been named new coach Deportivo La Coruna.
The 39-year-old had already overseen his first training session in charge and was accompanied by his assistant coach David Dóniga and fitness trainer Ignacio Oria Mijares.
He succeeds Victor Fernandez, after he was sacked by Depor in the morning.
Deportivo President Tino Fernández is delighted that a player who not only knows the workings at Riazor but is a club legend has accepted the job.
"Víctor was part of the legendary Depor side and for all that he achieved as a player, he really needs no introduction. I would like to thank Víctor for showing faith in this project; I encourage him to succeed and wish the very best of luck in this new venture," he said
