Tottenham shot stopper Guglielmo Vicario has spoken about the impact of head coach Ange Postecoglou on getting him to sign for the club.

Vicario has come into the club and shone from the get go, displacing Hugo Lloris as the new no.1.

He admitted that Postecoglou's famous phone calls to new signings do make a big difference in convincing players they are making the right move.

Per football.london, he stated: "Ange called me and it was a very good call, because he knew everything about me, about my past and my style of play and about my character, because he said a very important and proud thing for me, that 'both of us, we started from the bottom and we went over all of the hurdles in our life and career'.

"You have to show your qualities and for me in that time it was so much more important to hear about the man.

“I had no doubt about joining him, joining Spurs because I think we can do brilliant work together."
