Venezia sports chief Mattia Collauto is delighted with their swoop for Sergio Romero.
The released Manchester United goalkeeper signed for Venezia this week.
Collauto explained: "This club has shown that they want to do things in a certain way. We have a line that I think is right to give continuity to the club.
"With Romero we had to intervene because Lezzerini is injured and Maenpaa has a back problem: the ownership has granted to go to the market and Sergio arrived, an important player who presented himself in the best possible way.
"Now it will be up to the coaches to understand the conditions to be able to use him or not.
"We will evaluate him in these days. Yesterday he did his first training, from now to Monday we will see."
