The Brighton goalkeeper is set to sign for La Real this week and is currently in Los Angeles with Vazquez, with the pair having played together at Club Brugge.
Vazquez told Mundo Deportivo: "Maty is super motivated, super happy and eager to fight (La Real No1 Alex) Remiro for the position.
"We had a very special connection from the beginning and my family and friends have adopted him."
Ryan had a previous spell in Spain with Valencia and former Barcelona midfielder Vazquez also said: "The time in Valencia left him with a very good taste in his mouth, even though he didn't play as much as he wanted.
"He has always been very attached to Spain, he loves its culture and its food."
La Real are paying €1.1m to buy Ryan from the Seagulls.
