Vancouver Whitecaps confirm trial for ex-Cardiff, Forest striker Earnshaw

Vancouver Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson has confirmed that he is taking a look at striker Robert Earnshaw.

The 33-year old Welsh forward is without a club after finishing up with Chicago Fire last year and Robinson is casting an eye over him to see if he will be a good fit for the 2015 MLS season.

"Earnshaw I've known for many a number of years," said Robinson of his former Norwich City teammate.

"Ernie wants to get some football training under his belt. So I'm helping him a little bit, but we also get to have a look at him for 10 days because he's without a club at the moment."

Earnshaw first arrived in MLS when signing with Toronto FC in 2013 and went onto score eight goals in 27 appearances for the Reds before a short spell with the Fire in 2014.

Some of his previous clubs include Cardiff City, West Bromwich AlbionDerby County and Nottingham Forest.
