Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk would welcome January signings for the club.

The Dutchman, coming off the back of World Cup disappointment with his country, got back to winning ways at club level.

Van Dijk and his teammates defeated Aston VIlla 3-1 in the Premier League on Boxing Day.

Post-game, per Viaplay, van Dijk said about new arrivals: "Hopefully we can welcome some new players at our football club.

“We will see. I think that quality is always welcome at Liverpool."

Since then, media reports in England and Holland have indicated that the Reds have all but secured the signature of Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven.
