Victor Valdes has hit back at Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.
The Dutchman suggested the Spanish goalkeeper would be offloaded this summer after failing to follow the United philosophy last season when choosing not to play for the second team.
Valdes has evidently taken offence to van Gaal's words and took to Twitter to defend himself, suggesting that the Red Devils manager may have disrespected him.
The former Barcelona gloveman posted a photo of him alongside the United reserves team accompanied by the note '? #respect'.

This tact is unlikely to endear Valdes to van Gaal any further and it appears that the writing is now on the wall for the 33-year-old three-time Champions League and one-time World Cup winner.
