"When I look at the great AC Milan I played for, it is remarkable how many of his teammates who became coach. I think everyone who worked under Carlo Ancelotti learned something. It is proof that we were more than just big players. We had smart people too," Shevchenko tells The Athletic.

Shevchenko was coached by Tottenham manager José Mourinho for a season in Chelsea and believes he Portuguese was special.

"I learned a lot from Mourinho. It was interesting how he handled his team. José always finds something out of nowhere. That's his mentality. You always have to show faith."
