Newcastle United fullback Kieran Trippier has sent a message to supporters after he went down with injury against Aston Villa on Saturday.
Scans have showed Trippier had fractured the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot.
"It's really frustrating to have picked up the injury in yesterday's win. We've built some momentum and long may that continue," Trippier wrote on Instagram.
"Injuries are a part of football and I will remain positive, work as hard as I can on my rehab to be back fit as quickly as possible playing in front of you fans.
"For the coming weeks I will offer any help that I can and be supporting our great club in every way possible.
"Thank you all for your very kind messages of support!"
