Newcastle United fullback Kieran Trippier says fans can be excited about their future.

Trippier has been part of a £200million recruitment drive in 2022 and says United are back on the map thanks to the major investment from PIF, Amanda Staveley and the Reuben family. With the club pushing for the Champions League and still in both cups, Trippier is confident that a new exciting chapter is about to be written on Tyneside.

Trippier told Chronicle Live: "Yeah of course. You see the new owners, new players coming in and it is a new journey.

"The fans are believing again and rightly so. Newcastle is a massive club and people can't forget that. We're back and going toe to toe with the big teams, we want to make the fans and the club proud.

"Signings have helped of course but we have a great squad of characters.

"We all believe and are all like a family. And that is important that we are all on the same page."
