Tottenham told to go higher to beat Liverpool for Lallana

Tottenham have been told to go higher if they want Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana.

The Mail on Sunday says Tottenham have been told to offer £30m to Southampton if they want to hijack Lallana's move to Liverpool.

On Saturday Liverpool upped a bid from £20m to £25m to secure Lallana, having already secured the services of Rickie Lambert for £4m from the Saints. They believe they have landed the player following a medical.

But Southampton, who would seem to be selling off their prized assets, want £30m for Lallana and are hoping that former manager Mauricio Pochettino will persuade Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to pay that fee.
