Tottenham midfielder Luke Amos' season over

Tottenham midfielder Luke Amos' season is over.

Amos twisted his knee in the U-23 match against Blackburn last week and he will undergo surgery once the swelling has subsided.

The 21-year-old impressed during Spurs' preseason tour of the US, starting the friendlies against Roma, Barcelona and AC Milan, and he made his senior debut from the bench on the opening day of the season against Newcastle.

With Dele Alli (hamstring), Christian Eriksen (abdomen) and Mousa Dembele (thigh) among the five first-team players out of Wednesday's match against Barcelona and Saturday's game against Cardiff, Amos would have been in contention for a place in the match-day squad.
