Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen remains a January target for Real Madrid.
Marca says Madrid endured a frustrating summer transfer window as they failed to land any of their midfield transfer targets or sell the players they needed to to raise funds.
However, the club are already planning their January transfer business and will target Eriksen as they bid to strengthen in the middle of the park.
Madrid's current midfield trio of Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos have been first choice since Zidane's first spell in charge and the club's hierarchy have made the engine room a priority ahead of January.
Eriksen reportedly turned down a move to Manchester United in August in the hope of sealing a move to Madrid, and will be a free agent at the end of the season, meaning the Spanish club could land him for a cut-price fee in January.
