Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven could be set for a Netherlands debut this week.
The centre back has been a huge hit in the Premier League under coach Ange Postecoglou so far.
Now he is set to get his big chance for Oranje, as they play Greece in a Euro 2024 qualifier.
“At my age it's important that you get a lot of playing time," he said as reported by Dutch publication NU.
"I spoke about this in detail with the Tottenham coach. He said: 'I am bringing you in to play. And that may not go well right away, but then I know you have the quality'."
“It is so much fun playing football at Tottenham. The assignment is: play from the back and if things go wrong, it is the responsibility of the trainer. The manager literally said: 'You can make a mistake. Better that than shooting the ball outside the stadium three times in a row'."
