Tottenham defender Ryan Sessegnon has gone through with hamstring surgery to save his season.

The 23-year-old will miss the beginning of the campaign, but hopes to be fit in the coming weeks.

Per The Mail, Sessegnon has been troubled by the issue since the end of last season.

Sessegnon will likely be given a chance by new boss Ange Postecoglou when he returns to fitness.

However, the Australian had wanted to run the rule over the young wing back during pre-season.

The timing of his surgery means that Sessegnon has likely ruled himself out of an exit from Spurs this summer.
