Tottenham defender Dier urges 'perspective' ahead of Arsenal clash: We know we can do better

Tottenham defender Eric Dier has urged 'perspective' ahead of their clash with Prem leaders Arsenal.

Dier has urged calm from the support going into the clash.

Dier said: “Perspective is always important. There's loads to play for. It's a crazy thing. It doesn't feel like it but we're only halfway through the season. We're still well and truly in what we want to be in - the FA Cup and the Champions League. We're still right up there in the Premier League. A couple of results here and there, it's so tight everything can change.

“It's important for us to stay calm and keep perspective, to try to keep getting better and get results. Within this bubble, we have to keep perspective, understand where we are and be realistic with ourselves that we're in a good place.

“We can definitely do better, could have had better results, players could have played better, but we're okay and going to try to finish the season in a great way."

Dier accepts the players need to spark the home crowd to get behind them,.

He said, “Then you do start to feel your legs and your lungs. It's a difficult one, it's this 50/50, give and take. We need to play in a way which galvanises the crowd, and at the same time, the crowd can galvanise us to play in that way.

“It's a chicken and egg. You're never going to always play well and in those moments, that's where the fans and the crowd can make such a difference, such an impact on you. It's running into a wind or running with the wind behind, that's how important it is for us."
