Tottenham defender Cristian Romero has revealed that he had to come off the field during Argentina's game against Peru due to an ankle problem.
Romero, who did start the contest, came off sooner than expected due to a heavy challenge he received.
A Paolo Guerrero tackle left a mark on Romero, who decided to take the matter seriously and come off as a precaution.
Speaking to Argentine publication La Voz, he stated: “That's why I decided to come out at half-time, as we also have an important home game with Tottenham Hotspur on Monday against Fulham.
"But this is a team of animals (Argentina) and whoever comes in is sure to be a cracker."
Spurs fans will be hoping that Romero is back in time to play on Monday against Fulham in the Premier League.
