Tottenham consider re-signing Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin

Tottenham are considering re-signing Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin.

The Sun says Cirkin, 20, has caught the eye in the Championship at the Black Cats since the move and Spurs are looking into a possible return trip to the capital for their former academy prospect.

The North London club surprisingly let him go and could pull off another shock by bidding to bring him back.

However, that may be part of an elaborate move to sign Dublin-born Cirkin and then sell him soon after to a rival.

Cirkin has recently returned to fitness after injury and Spurs are due to watch him again in the build-up to the January transfer window.

The 6ft defender came through Tottenham's academy system after moving to London from Ireland aged three.
