Tottenham captain Son: Being back here helps Asian Cup disappointment

Tottenham captain Heung-min Son admits that being with his club is helping him overcome his Asia Cup pain.

Son and South Korea were eliminated in the semi finals by Jordan, who finished runners up in the end.

While Son is still disappointed by that outcome, he was happy to be part of Spurs 2-1 win over Brighton on Saturday.

"It is not nice talking about the tournament again," Son told The Standard.

"It is really tough to take, but it is part of football. It really hurts, but to heal is playing football again to make me smile again — like Saturday.

"Obviously, I came back really fast to help the team. I want to be part of the team. We had a great result [against Brighton]."

Son added: "I just want to help the team as much as I can and I want to enjoy playing for the manager, playing with my team-mates and we will see at the end of the season.

"There's only a few months left until the end of the season but we don't want to talk about the future already. As I always said, I want to give the best that I can, as a team that we can, we will see where it takes us.

“We can't promise but we will do our best to make it something special."
