Tottenham boss Postecoglou: Son feels a real responsibility

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou admits he is impressed with attacker Son Heung-min.

The South Korean has taken over the captain's armband at the North London club.

Son, who is back to his best form this season, is stepping up to fill the void left by the departure of Harry Kane.

Postecoglou told reporters: “To be fair to Sonny he always has been for this club, he hasn't needed the armband to show the love he has for the football club to earn the respect of his peers both within this club and outside Tottenham.

“He feels a real responsibility, particularly with Harry gone and Hugo not being as involved now.

“He's the senior (player), the elder statesman, and he wants with his performances and his behaviors to help this young group of players because it's not long ago that he was the young one, and he got the guidance and protection needed for any young player coming into a big football club.

“So yeah he's been great and I think there's more to come from him."
