Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou admits the lead-up to facing Crystal Palace hasn't been "ideal".
Spurs host Palace having not played for two weeks.
Postecoglou said: "It hasn't been ideal. It has been a bit of a disjointed season for us. We have had a lot of stops and starts. We have got a couple of games now and then the international break. At least after that we will have some regular football until the end of the year."
On facing Crystal Palace under new manager Oliver Glasner, he also said: "It's always a bit of a challenge. In our scouting we try to get [an understanding] on the consistency of player [selection] by looking at recent games. With a new manager, things adjust naturally. You usually see that they have a positive effect [on the team performances] when a new man comes in.
"But I still think we are in a good stage in terms of our development. Our emphasis is more on us [rather than the opposition] - on how we are playing football and how we can bring commitment and energy in our game."
