Tottenham boss Pochettino fears season over for Kane

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted Tottenham might have lost Harry Kane for the season in Tuesday night's win over Manchester City.

In a pulsating clash first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, Spurs walked away 1-0 victors thanks to Heung-min Son's late thunderbolt.

The result was tempered by Kane injuring the same ankle that sidelined him earlier this year, which Pochettino has confirmed looks serious.

Asked if he though Kane could miss the rest of the season, the Argentine said: "Yes. We need to check tomorrow, but it looks the same, a similar issue (to that he suffered against United).

"I'm very sad, very disappointed, and it's going to be tough for the rest of the season.

"We hope it's not a big issue but there's not much time to recover. He's twisted his ankle and we will see how he reacts in the next few hours."
