Tottenham are ready to move for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez.

The Mirror says Tottenham are circling £22m Maxi.

The north Londoners, who are set to part company with veteran target-man Fernando Llorente in the summer, are looking to improve their options up front.

Uruguay international Gomez has scored 11 times in all competitions after netting 17 goals last term — his first season in Spanish football.

West Ham pushed for the 22-year-old in the January transfer window, with boss Manuel Pellegrini a big admirer. But Celta refused to sell as they are in relegation trouble. Gomez's release clause - currently at £42m - virtually halves to £22m if they go down.
