Former Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has refused to take aim at Andre Villas-Boas.
Defoe is preparing to make his Toronto FC debut this weekend.
He found himself warming the bench far more than getting his chance on the pitch under Villas-Boas and it was this that made him consider life away from the Lane.
He told talkSPORT: ''AVB was good but he was unfortunate. We weren't getting the results or scoring goals. We were really organised.
"Tim has come in and the first few games you could see the difference as it went back to the Tottenham way. He needs time. He is a nice man."
