That was not my first goal in front of the Kop! - Liverpool young gun Teixeira

Liverpool youngster Joao Carlos Teixeira reveals that his goal in the 3-0 victory over Exeter City was not his first at Anfield.

Teixeira starred in Liverpool's comfortable win over the Grecians in the third-round replay of the FA Cup on Wednesday night and the 23-year-old capped off his fine performance with his first senior goal for the Reds.

Surprisingly though, Teixeira has gone on to reveal that the goal was not his first at in front of the Kop as he had already found the back of the net at the famous ground while playing for Sporting Lisbon a couple of years ago.

Smiling, Teixeira told theLiverpool Echo: "That wasn't my first goal in front of the Kop.

"My first was for Sporting when I first came here to play against Liverpool. But this one felt very special. That was my first in a Liverpool shirt and it was a great feeling.

"It was a great pass from Christian Benteke and I was able to beat the keeper. It's always good to score and to get one at such a famous stadium in front of a big crowd is even better."
