Russell Teibert is expected to be handed pro terms by the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The 18 year-old has been impressive in preseason trials.

Whitecaps head coach Teitur Thordarson told the Vancouver Sun: "He's still young but it's very intriguing to see an 18-year-old guy come in and play against MLS teams with the quality he's been showing.

"A big reason he has a good opportunity to succeed is because he's physically strong, not big and strong but he can really run so he will adjust to the tempo."
