Swansea chairman Jenkins buys his players iPads

Swansea City have spent almost £10,000 on performance-enhancing tablets for their players.

Each member of Garry Monk's first-team squad has been handed an iPad, worth more than £300 each, with homework assignments uploaded daily so they can study opponents and tactical instructions.

Skipper Ashley Williams revealed: "The footage gets uploaded daily - by the afternoon my iPad has probably already got the content from this morning's training uploaded on it.

"They are adding specific stuff for each player and opposition stuff from games they have played, clips of their strikers and what they do. We do so much travelling so instead of watching Transformers, we are all watching the last game.

"Sometimes the lads might previously have said, 'That's not going to work'. But when you see it, it makes it quite obvious. Anything you want - like something specific - they will just put it on. We have got some guys up there who are geniuses.

"I'm just surprised that Huw (Jenkins, the chairman) paid for those."
