Sunderland want to keep hold of Connor Wickham.
The striker is inside the final year of his current deal and a target for Leicester City.
The Sunderland Echo says Leicester's interest is genuine, although it is not thought that the Foxes have yet made a firm bid for Wickham's services.
But despite Wickham's precarious contract situation, Sunderland are not looking to sell the 21-year-old after he finally provided a return on the £8million invested in the summer of 2011.
